TOPICS: Albert Devries – Running a Commercial Beekeeping Operation and its application for small scale.

A great turnout the first meeting of 2026 with 50 members present! Special thanks to speaker Albert Devries – Clovermead Apiaries and to Angela Cox for her Beekeepers Corner presentation.

Speaker – Albert Devries – Clovermead Apiaries – Albert is the Canadian Honey Council rep for Ontario appointed by the board of the OBA Ontario Beekeepers Association, which he also sits on. He runs Clovermead Apiaries with approximately 1000 colonies that produces honey, pollen and queens as part of his business. He attended the University of Guelph where he obtained his Diploma of Agriculture – and his love of bees.

Beekeepers Corner: Angela Cox talked about what is happening in the apiary and plans for managing in the next few months.
